'CAPRICORN 1' ON A SMALLER SCALE

Space travel is hard, very hard. We have become so used to seeing people go into space that often we forget just how hard it is. Everything must go right. Thus far there only two countries who have active space programs; the United States and Russia. Other countries have sent astronauts into space but only by hitching rides with those two countries (mostly us). Only one country has been to the moon (us again) and so much could have gone wrong during those trips it was luck lucky they all made it back. I think this video is real. But with computer graphics even fakes can be faked. If you don't know what "Capricorn One" is here is the link to Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capricorn_One

MULTICAM COATING

If you are a freak for MultiCam check out this vendor. They will coat almost anything in MultiCam. Kind of pricey but still neat.

MULTICAM RIFLE GRIP/BIPOD

This looks a cool system for a rifle. It fits on picatinny rails and functions as a grip and a bipod. This would be great if you were operating on a perimeter or behind position of safety (i.e. armored car). Plus, with the multi cam you can't go wrong. But not that it matters, I'm not much of a fan for grips... I prefer to use the magazine housing.

THE ARK

This film is pretty dark and deep. Take the time to watch it... the end will surprise you.

THE BLACK HOLE

I loved this movie. It's a bit dated but just as good. Although I never believed the theory that you could travel through a black hole, if anything it should be called a black sphere and you'd crash into it. True, if you look at one from a distance it may look like a hole but so does the sun and moon, and we know that they are round. But who am I to contradict astronomers. Sorry for the rant... enjoy the clip.

NEW BEN BOVA BOOK

Ben Bova has a new book coming out (it may be out already but I usually have to wait until they publish it paperback). I've read most of his stuff... it's hard science fiction... but makes for an easy read. I'm now reading his book "Mercury"... I think he's running out of planets to write about.

OLD TOYS

I saw some pictures of these the other day and they brought back a lot of memories. Everyone knows of Stretch Armstrong but only the old time Tech Geeks will remember Merlin.

CORN STARCH SPEAKER

I've never tried this but after watching this video I'm going to have give it a shot. Apparently, it's is harder than it looks. This is the same stuff that you can walk on and not sink... but if you stop you will. They had a good demonstration of it on the TV show Time Warp.

ARMORED MEERKAT
